The Office of the Deputy Clerk, Legislative Business and Programmes initiates activities performed by Members of The National Assembly that are within the course and scope of their term of office.

The division provides an annual framework within which priorities are established in the Assembly Service for preparing and managing the progress of Parliamentary businesses.

In addition to the development of strategic priorities as obtained in the Strategic Development and Investment Plan, the Deputy Clerk facilitates the works of various Committees and Parliamentary Delegations that make up the work of the Legislature.

This sets the period in which the National Assembly is convened for purpose of law-making through plenary or committee stages in Ordinary or Extra-Ordinary Sessions.

The office oversees the directorates of Hansard; Library & Research; Committee Secretariat, and Parliamentary Budget Office. The general supervision of projects all falls under the Deputy Clerk, Legislative Business and Programmes.
