WASTE MANAGEMENT BILL, 2024

Summary

This Bill primarily seeks to provide guidance on the avoidance and reduction of waste to the minimum level possible, re-use of usable components of waste, sustainable development through protection and saving of natural resources, prevention of negative impacts of waste on the environment, human life and health, and environmentally acceptable waste disposal. The Bill also seeks to provide guidance on high level of protection of the environment, human life and health, protection of illegal trade in waste and trans boundary movements of hazardous and other related waste.
