The National Assembly represents The Gambia in regional and international inter-parliamentary bodies, building relationships that advance the interests of the Gambian people beyond our borders.
Parliamentary diplomacy is an essential part of the work of the National Assembly. Through delegations to regional and international inter-parliamentary bodies, Members of the National Assembly contribute to shaping regional legislation, share experience with counterparts across the world, and represent the positions of The Gambia in forums where decisions affecting the region and the continent are debated.

ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly
The Committee is mandated to coordinate the National Assembly's engagement with the ACP–EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly by promoting parliamentary dialogue, partnership, development cooperation, democratic governance, and mutual understanding between ACP States and the European Union.
African Parliamentary Union (APU)
The African Parliamentary Union Committee is mandated to coordinate the National Assembly's engagement with the African Parliamentary Union by promoting parliamentary cooperation, African unity, democratic governance, peace, and sustainable development across the continent.
Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA)
The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Committee is mandated to strengthen parliamentary democracy by promoting cooperation, knowledge sharing, capacity building, and the exchange of best practices among Commonwealth legislatures.

ECOWAS Parliament
The ECOWAS Parliament serves as the parliamentary institution of ECOWAS, providing a forum for dialogue, consultation, and oversight to support regional integration and the implementation of ECOWAS policies and programmes.
Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)
The Inter-Parliamentary Union Committee is mandated to coordinate the National Assembly's engagement with the Inter-Parliamentary Union, promoting parliamentary diplomacy, democratic governance, peace, human rights, and international cooperation.
Pan African Parliament
The Pan-African Parliament serves as the legislative consultative body of the African Union, promoting democracy, good governance, human rights, and regional integration through parliamentary dialogue and oversight.
The Parliamentary Union of the OIC (PUOIC)
The Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States Committee is mandated to coordinate the National Assembly's engagement with the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States by promoting parliamentary cooperation, solidarity, peace, good governance, and socio-economic development among OIC member states.
