Parliamentary diplomacy is an essential part of the work of the National Assembly. Through delegations to regional and international inter-parliamentary bodies, Members of the National Assembly contribute to shaping regional legislation, share experience with counterparts across the world, and represent the positions of The Gambia in forums where decisions affecting the region and the continent are debated.

ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly

The Committee is mandated to coordinate the National Assembly's engagement with the ACP–EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly by promoting parliamentary dialogue, partnership, development cooperation, democratic governance, and mutual understanding between ACP States and the European Union.
